Proposition 2 Funding Opportunities for School Energy Efficiency and School Facility Program Updates
Room: 204
Time: 1:30pm – 2:30pm
Learn how to obtain Proposition 2 funding through the State of California’s Office of Public School Construction (OPSC), including new Energy Efficiency supplemental grants. OPSC, through the State Allocation Board, provides grant funding to TK-12 school districts for the construction and modernization of school facilities through the School Facility Program. OPSC’s Executive Officer and Chief of Program Services will walk you through the process to determine eligibility and apply for funding. Additionally, the Division of the State Architect (DSA) will discuss how it will assist OPSC with projects applying for the Energy Efficiency supplemental grants and how the Sustainable Schools Program will support this effort. DSA will also review the process for clients along with other internal systems being put into place to provide a reporting vehicle. Proposition 2 provides $8.5 billion for the construction and modernization of K-12 school facilities. School districts should ensure they understand the requirements for funding under Proposition 2 so they can begin planning now for submitting applications. |
