New Horizons for Recycling
The state Department of Conservation has designated the Monterey Peninsula as its testing ground for recycling efficiency. The diversion rate for Peninsula cities is already 50 to 65 percent, and under the experimental program, recycling is expected to increase by another 50 percent.
