Alder Creek Middle School in Truckee, California, exceeds Title 24 by 20
percent. A geothermal ground source heat pump system heats and cools the
building through a central boiler. School incorporates low VOC materials
and finishes, materials with high recycled content (steel frame, fly ash
content concrete, etc.), a dedicated recycling area, low-flow water
fixtures, operable windows, storm water controls and settling basins to
promote ground water recharge.
