California’s Sustainable Buildings
6 existing state buildings have achieved LEED certifications
22 existing building projects have been benchmarked and are in
various stages of retro-commissioning for energy efficiency, water
conservation and waste diversion.
50 Department of General Services-managed buildings have been
benchmarked to calculate their energy consumption.
250 state-owned buildings are in the process of benchmarking.
190 buildings over 50,000 square feet will be retro-commissioned
(optimizing existing energy systems and identifying areas for improvement)
by 2009.
31 buildings have begun or completed retro-commissioning this year.
25 buildings are scheduled to begin retro-commissioning in 2007.
6 new state-owned buildings have achieved LEED certification.
22 new construction projects (52 separate buildings) are currently
design or construction and going for LEED Silver or better certification.
