As of January 1st, 2011, the California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) will become mandatory to all residential, commercial, school and hospital building construction at each level of government within California. These comprehensive regulations offer a blueprint for a new generation of healthy, efficient buildings, with benefits for occupants as well as for the environment.

If you are an architect, building department staff, engineer or contractor you must not only know what these requirements are, but how to comply and/or enforce them.

The Sacramento CALGreen Commercial Workshop will provide an in-depth look at the commercial chapters of the new code, covering each section in detail with a focus on application and compliance. Each participant will review a commercial site plan, from planning and design to completion, detailing each aspect of code - and how to achieve them. Participants will also be trained on the new documentation requirements for the submission and approval of building plans.

BONUS: Building Commissioning

Commissioning will be required of all new nonresidential properties over 10,000 square feet. Training has been added to the program to address the various steps of the commissioning process.

The trainer will be Charles "Russ" Russell. Mr. Russell has been in the construction industry for over 40 years: as a project manager for residential and commercial properties; a Southern California city building official for 10 years and now Vice President of VCA Code Group, a company engaged in code administration services for numerous Southern California jurisdictions.

Registration is NOW open.

Refreshments and snacks will be served throughout the workshop.

4 AIA credits are issued for AIA members upon completion of the workshop.

If you have attended a past CALGreen seminar (overview and orientation to the code), contact Tyler Graves at 626-577-5700 x239 or by email at tgraves@green-technology.org for your promo code, providing you 15% off your registration.
