The New Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) is Here!
How do you comply with the new requirements? How are they being enforced?
Green Technology training events can help you prepare!
This series of regional half-day seminars, developed in cooperation with the California Building Standards Commission and the California Department of Housing and Community Development, provide an introduction and overview of the new building code requirements (mandatory and voluntary), as well as compliance checklists and the new code's enforcement.
California’s new green building code has become effective in all jurisdictions. New mandatory measures address planning, design and construction in the areas of: |
|
Site development Energy efficiency Construction waste reduction, disposal & recycling Building maintenance & operations Indoor moisture control Environmental comfort |
Material conservation and resource efficiency (including water resistance and moisture management) Indoor & outdoor air quality and more! |
How is YOUR city or county implementing the new code?
BONUS: A panel of local building dept staff will be present to answer your questions concerning what the local jurisdictions have adopted and how these new requirements are being enforced.
What participants are saying!
More than 3,500 design and building professionals across California have attended an Understanding CALGreen seminar to date. Here’s what they’re saying!
“This has been billed as the most stringent building code in the country, so I was interested to know how it would interact with our LEED projects - clearly, our clients are asking. I’ve learned from today that it’s really going to be pretty simple. I’m not the least bit afraid of this. “
Katrina Rosa, Director of Sustainability, Ecologic Studio
“I was to happy to see that the code seemed very reasonable and easy to understand. I’ve been worried it would be very complex and involve another whole layer of information and requirements. But it seems that it has been very well thought out and I can see that it will be easy to use.”
Tracy Stone, architect, LEED AP
