Optimum Energy is a software company dedicated to helping owners and operators of commercial and public sector buildings save money and the environment. Optimum Energy uses open protocol software solutions to reduce the amount of energy used to provide heating and cooling – and enhance tenant comfort year-round.

With Optimum Energy’s end-to-end energy efficiency software, OptimumHVAC, building owners can save hundreds of thousands of kWh annually and reduce HVAC operating costs by 30 to 60%. OptimumHVAC’s all variable speed, all variable flow approach allows an HVAC system to be continuously optimized for energy efficiency and comfort, based on actual, real-time demand. Persistent optimization and online monitoring verifies HVAC system performance and energy reductions to ensure savings last for decades. Project payback is typically 12 to 36 months
The OptimumHVAC suite of software, based on patented, relational control algorithms, includes:
• OptimumLOOP, which is designed for buildings more than 100,000 square feet with centrifugal chiller plants equipped with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and a Building Automation System (BAS).
• Optimum TRAV, which is designed for buildings with Variable Air Volume (VAV) air handling units equipped with VFDs on air handlers and Direct Digital Controls on all VAV units.
• OptimumHVAC Performance Assurance, a Web-based performance monitoring system that enables plant managers to perform automated measurement and verification in real-time, and from any location where they have access to the Internet. Performance Assurance also includes long-term technical support from Optimum Energy’s Engineering Services team.

OptimumHVAC’s third generation software is delivered on an industry standard controller that is able to communicate with any BAS using standard communication protocols. Optimum Energy works closely with building owners and contractors to install OptimumHVAC, as well variable frequency drives (VFDs) throughout the plant, and direct digital controls (DDCs) for variable air volume air handling systems, as needed.
