Overview

8290 Vickers Street Suite A San Diego, California 92111-2116

Description

KWIK-BUILD PANELS is a load-bearing, panelized building system which
combines the structural attributes of steel, with the exceptional insulation
properties of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). Panels are uniquely designed with a complete thermal break to mitigate the thermal conductivity of steel. Modified for
fire prevention, the EPS foam core is bonded to galvanized double steel frames, producing durable, almost indestructible panels, with enormous advantages over traditional building materials. Effective energy ratings per inch of wall thickness remain consistent over life of panels, with no ‘thermal drift’ or reduction in R-value, unlike traditional insulation, which rapidly loses thermal resistance from point of installation.

In one easy step, the single-component panels replace: 1.traditional framing,
2. insulation and 3.sheathing, while also providing a moisture, vapor and air barrier. Panels may be installed vertically as bearing exterior and/or interior walls, or horizontally as floors and roofs.
From single to four-stories or as infill walls for high-rise structures, panels can be modified to meet most conditions. A standard 4’ x 8’ panel weighs about 45 pounds - roughly 80 % lighter than a similar-sized conventional building unit, yet, is 2 ½ times stronger. Door and window rough openings and chase ways for electrical wiring are incorporated during the manufacturing process. Panels are non-allergenic and resistant to mold, rot, mildew or termite infestations - particularly important in areas with high humidity.

THIRD PARTY TESTING -
Panels are Energy Star® certified and have passed the most stringent third-party testing requirements including: ICC-ES - International Code Council Evaluation Services; UL - Underwriters Laboratories Inc; HUD - US Department of Housing and Urban Development and Hurricane Test Lab of Miami-Dade Hurricane Standards.

ASSEMBLY –

First your plans are electronically converted into panel configuration for manufacturing setup. The customized, pre-engineered panels are delivered to job site for quick, waste-free, easy installation. Unlike stick-framing or other alternative building systems, highly specialized trades or costly heavy equipment are NOT required to erect panels, effecting the lowest installation costs of any panel system.

FIRE RESISTANCE -
The Class I fire–rated Expanded Polystyrene is modified to reduce ‘flame spread’ and ‘smoke developed’. Vapors are not only non-toxic, but less so than burning fir, a commonly used framing material. Unlike wood, which contributes fuel to fires, EPS melts at very high temperatures and does not contribute fuel to fires. Panels have been approved as a one and two-hour fire rated assembly by the California State Fire Marshal’s office.

APPLICATIONS

Consider Kwik-Build Panels an important resource wherever performance-driven structural components, speed and ease of construction, superior insulation, fire resistance, high acoustical values, air barrier or moisture resistance are important. Regardless of project type — residential, commercial, light industrial, military or public works – panels may be used as structural exterior walls, roofs or floors in low-rise structures, up to four stories or interior walls. They may also be used as exterior cladding for high-rise buildings.
Specific applications may include: Hospitality industry, Multi-family, Military, Educational, Medical and Religious facilities, Machine shops or animal kennels, high humidity areas and LEED ((Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) projects.
